This year girls’ soccer is back at McAuley. It’s a co-op team with College Heights Christian School. Their season is coming to a close with the current record of 5-7. Freshmen Kayleigh Teeter, Ava Gould, Kennedy DeRuy, Abbey Cahalan, sophomore, Carmen Colson, and junior, Gracie Gardner are on the team. Another co-op team this spring is the College Heights softball team. This year is a rebuilding year for the team. Senior, Courtney Bates is the only McAuley student on the team this year. So far the season has not gone as planned. The ladies have a new coaching staff which has been an adjustment throughout the season. As of right now their record is 3-17. This year has also been a rebuilding year for the Warrior’s baseball team. The boys have been playing well the last couple of games. They are competing in their district tournament next week and are hoping for the best. Track this year has been successful. The boys’ team placed second at the conference meet while the girls’ team placed third. The team just travelled to School of the Ozarks this past Saturday for the district meet. The girls’ 4×1 relay team qualified for sectionals along with freshman thrower Avery Eminger. Members of the relay team are Johanna Damaso, Elizabeth Motazedi, Ava Gould, and Gliza Damaso. Sophomore Gliza Damaso qualified for sectionals in the 300 meter hurdles. The boys’ 4×1, 4×2, and 4×8 relay teams made the cut for sectionals as well. The athletes that were on those teams are: Jacob Price, Arthur V., Joe Lupicki, Nathan Taylor, Connor Ramsey, Thomas Black, and Jake Staton. Senior Ben Borgmeyer qualified in the 110 meter high hurdles. Overall, this spring has been exciting for both spectators and athletes.
