Multiple Teams · McAuley Looks for Even More Success

Warriors have many young players, including sophomore Miranda Green, who are expected contribute to a successful 2013 season.

Joplin, MO– McAuley’s Volleyball team looks for big improvements in 2013 after a solid 2012 Season.  The 2012 Lady Warriors tied for  the Ozark 7 Conference Championship, had two varsity players make 1st team all-district, another make 2nd team all-district and Coach Steele was awarded coach of the year. The team is looking confident again this year with hopes of a successful 2013 season.

Head Coach Brian Steele has a positive attitude about the upcoming season, “We return most all starters of a very young and hard working team.  The attitude is at the level it needs to be and we look forward to improving each and every day.”

The Lady Warriors have plenty of returning starters but still need to fill the void of last years senior, Kenzie Doran.  Senior leadership will be under the direction of Abby Pekarek.  Pekarek has enjoyed taking on a leadership role, she states, “Being a senior has given me the opportunity to mentor some of the younger players.  It has been an enjoyable role.”

The Warriors will start off the 2013 campaign on September 3rd at Diamond.  The match starts at 6:00.
